Hosting many science centers for centuries, Aleppo is an ancient city that has been the melting pot of many civilizations.

Regrettably, the ancient city of Aleppo, which is found on the world heritage list with all its madrasas, libraries, and many other historical and social structures, is now listed on the list of world heritage in danger. Even the ruins of Aleppo are considered to have significance in terms of cultural heritage.

The Department of Architecture at University of Aleppo was bombed in 2013, which killed more than 80 people including academics and students, and injured many others. Forced to emigrate from the University of Aleppo, many academics are trying to go on about their academic lives in various universities in Turkey and the world.
